We are open all Public Holidays except Christmas Day! We take pre-orders for chickens, salads and all your catering needs for collection on Christmas Eve.

A gluten free menu is available in store, we have a dedicated gluten free fryer and roast chickens can be ordered gluten free with 24 hours advance notice. While we take steps to minimise the risk of cross contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are safe to consume for people with allergies as in our kitchen we use products such as milk, eggs, gluten & seafood. Customers with food allergies must be aware of this risk. Coolum Coastal Chicken will not assume any liability for adverse reactions from the food consumed.

Yes! Our chips are also cooked in a dedicated gluten free fryer. Our chips were voted Best Chips on Sunny Coast 2019!
We understand the importance of strict preparation of gluten free products for coeliacs. We ensure we only use clean tongs and utensils and thoroughly wipe all benches for preparation. Our gluten free chickens are prepared separately and cooked on the top row of the rotisserie to prevent cross contamination. Our chips are cooked in a dedicated gluten free fryer. Unfortunately, given the amount of products we prepare that contain gluten we can not 100% guarantee cross contamination has not occurred but we certainly try our best.
Yes, many of our salads are vegetarian and we also have a vegan Vegetable Burger. Our falafel wraps are simply delicious.
Yes. Just ask for a box deal and we’ll add chips and a drink at a discounted price.
Yes, we grill all our fish except flake.
Yes. We make our ‘grab & go’ sandwiches and wraps daily. Or if you were after something specific, we can make it fresh for you.
What’s the secret to good chips? Good, fresh oil! Our oil is tested daily to ensure it is in perfect condition. All our oil is filtered or changed on a daily basis ensuring golden, delicious chips and food every day.
When the original owners opened the shop, the chickens were cooked over charcoal. Unfortunately, due to safety issues this process was ceased. The chickens have been cooked by rotisserie for years however the name Coolum Charcoal Chicken remained until 2023. To avoid confusion, the name was changed in 2023 to Coolum Coastal Chicken but they are still the same chickens you know and love.
Many of our products are made in house. Our burgers, salads, sandwiches, wraps and some of our dressings are all made by us. The crumb on our chicken tenders is specially prepared by our staff to our very own secret recipe.
Our schnitzels & chicken tenders are also crumbed by us. Our calamari is lovingly prepared by our staff too.
Our chickens are provided by Queensland company Nerang Park Poultry. The chickens are barn raised.

In the early 2000’s Coolum Charcoal Chicken started in a smaller shop in Coolum Shopping Village. It’s popularity soon escalated which necessitated moving to the bigger premises we are in today.
